All Hail the Mom Jean

I’ll admit it- until not too long ago I wasn’t a huge fan of this trend. High waisted, medium wash, straight leg Levi’s didn’t sound like my idea of fashion forward. In fact, it brought to mind images of Amy Phoehler in a vest…

But then I tried some of these on. I realized that they had a similar style to my favorite boyfriend jeans, but the higher rise accentuated my waist, and I didn’t have to worry about hiking them up all day to keep them from falling down. While they aren’t everyone’s favorite, they’re definitely having a moment, and they’re a super easy, on trend way to incorporate some vintage into your look.

I picked mine up at Deseret Industries in Provo for a whopping $4, but if you’re having a rough time finding the perfect fit, they have some good options from Topshop, or Urban Outfitters.

Today, I’ve put together 4 different looks to get you inspired

This is a cute, casual, and easy look. I love the flannel tied around the waist to add a little something extra to the outfit. These jeans look great with a cute graphic tee too. For this outfit I chose one of my favorites from Brandy Melville. If you’re looking for a soft tee with a vintage look, check out their stuff 😉

This look is a little more dressed up, but still laid back and cute. I think it would be a great option for lunch and some shopping.

You can also take these jeans less norm core and more of a boho route. Some sandals and a floaty peasant blouse also work great with these jeans.

These jeans are also perfect for a nighttime look where you want to look good but not too put together. A slim-fitting v neck tucked in with a leather jacket over the shoulders has such a model off-duty vibe. Plus, these sandals are soooo comfortable, perfect for a night out. They come in seriously like 20 colors too (!) and some are even on sale right now (!!!). You can get them here from Nordstrom.
